View Full Version : Teachers giving students hints?
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/education/7180103.stm
Someone just gave me link.
I think most teachers give subtle hints about whats going on with their exams, but giving students like revision sheets etc is a bit OTT.
what do you think?

Revision sheets are allowed aren't they?
nope
teachers arnt supposed to tell you what to revise, as well as give you any obvious help.
i mean, if you went to them and said "i dont understand plant transport, can you help?"
of course they can help with revision then.
but if they're like "okay class, exam in 1 week, ive made a nice revision booklet for everyone"
they obv making your revise certain things for the exam, you gotta figure it out yourself even an idiot could make a prediction :P

Our teachers tell us whats most likely to be in the exam ;o
Hmm well i got hints :P "make sure you learn enzymes and plant transport" but they come up in every paper so we all woulda known anyway

the teachers havent seen the exam til ur actually sitting it...
they dont know...
they tell us whats likely to come up...
if they cant help us revise, then why are we not on study leave?
why do we still have to go in for revision sessions?
to try n make the lazy kids do atlease a little bit :P
with practical exams, a list of equiptment is sent to science technicians, so teachers can peak really. this is a big clue so they advise kids

Teachers useally look at the previous year's (and a few before) to see what sort questions are more likely to come in the test, thats what my teachers used for my KS2 revision.

Same, They always tell us what might be in the exam for us to revise. I thik that helps me more.

They give us revision booklets so that we don't go in the day before the exam and go,
"What do I revise?" because you may find it common sense to know what's on the exam but there are some students who don't have a clue... :P
However, with science practicals (they're called ISAs with my school), a lot of cheating occurs..
I dont see much of a problem about it tbh lol
I dont see it as cheating either

Yeah they don't really know whats' in the paper like, but they can guess.
My teachers tell us what is likely to come up on the exam and I dont see no harm in it, no way can they tell us what is actually on the exam paper and revision guides are just to help revise key points really so I think teachers should be allowed to do it. obviously not teachers getting ahold of papers and working out the answering them for you then to revise the answers.
Exactly, Its just helping us to know what to revise :p
