Best Mate

A girl i havent known her long tops of about 6 months we are best mates but i have strong feelings for her but she doesnt know and she does have a bad taste for guys and i hate seeing her get hurt. When ever someone asks what she thinks of me she always says i dont think of him in that way we are just best mates and makes me feel like shes ashamed of me or something. Ok im not the prettiest duckling probaly the ugly duckling but she helps me reliase that its personality that matters. I have been so shy to tell her that the love poems that i have written and let her read were for her that i had to say they were for a girl most people know i fancie and i dont stand a chance :(. how do i approach at all in declaring my true feelings for her if i should.

maybe drop a few hints to let her know

it could go one of 2 ways she could say yes and you would both be happy or she could say no and have the chance of ending the friendship but if you really love her that shoukd be a risk you are willing to take
