I used to play guitar, online tutorials are very hard to learn from, it's better to go to a local music shop and get a dvd fror £10 or so and it'll teach you.
http://www.netspace.org/~mts/guit_tut/tutorial.htm Is the best online tutorial I can find though.
learn to read tabs :) and search the songs name followed by tab and it should come up with lots of different sites. Tell me a song you want to learn and ill put the link on... learn to read tabs HERE (http://www.fretplay.com/how-to-read-tabs.shtml) or HERE (http://www.catalogs.com/info/music/how-to-read-guitar-tabs.html)
Kyle, you can't learn from the internet. Even so, if your just starting for a band you wont know how to play for atleast 3 months. Maybe a bit shorter if your dedicated, and this is WITH a proper Guitar Teacher. You wont have a clue using an online tutorial. I'd give up now, I know you - you quit easily.
I don't quit easily anymore. The other forum brung me down.

Im learning from the internet right now and i think its best to get a chord book that shows you were to put your fingers then look for the chords/ tabs off the internet.
plus keep at it and dont let anyone put you down :]
I've just joined a band and i've never had lessons and lernt off the internet and a small book so it is possoble.
http://www.e-chords.com/ and a good chord book is the "guitar case chord book in full colour"
Hope this helps :]

You won't be able to learn from the internet, you best of getting books on it, or maybe a dvd/video so you can learn the basics maybe and then try and learn online, and i'm sure you could get a guitar teacher cheap anyway, and that'll be easier to learn from then going at it on your own.
Good luck though.
Kyle will need a lot more then a book.
no. if you are trying to insult me...
